B2B meeting 16th of September 2009.
Last week’s B2B meeting had a refreshing difference in how to do business along the Costa del Sol; in a previous meeting organiser Sue McClellan offered the members a chance to chair their own meeting within B2B organisation.
Last week’s meeting chaired by Simon Robertson of Del Sol Packaged was another huge success from the B2B club, these meetings just keep getting better and better said B2B member Paul Wainwright of Cabopino Lighting and this meeting was one of the best yet he says. It was a good attendance in fact extra chairs were drafted in to accommodate the extra business people that turned up unexpectedly it was a good thing that apologies were heard from some 10 members as the room was more than full.
The meeting started with a fun contest about ¨The best famous quote¨ with a bottle of champagne for the winner going to Gill Kennedy from Altura Events.
The topic for the meeting was:
“Opening up potential new markets” – An Introduction regarding the specific national groups as potentially growing markets on the Costa del Sol.
The question was asked is it possible to promote your business within the Russian-speaking community, which includes not only Russian citizens but also people from ex-Soviet Union. Within this group of Business people there are 3 Russian magazines and the dedicated newspaper “MK” plus the MK Russian travel brochure. The Russian community has dedicated retail businesses, real estate agencies, travel agencies and constructing Companies which highlights the scale of the potential business opportunity for us all.

Vladimir Suchevan CEO & Group Finance Director of Absolute resorts, Val is an International entrepreneur covering a number of business sectors he is one of the longest established Russian businessmen on the coast, a father of 2 and amongst other things has climbed Mount Everest for charity.
Dr. Michael Izotov a medical practitioner in traditional and complementary medicine and has been practicing for 8 years on the coast. He has a teenage boy and is married to a Japanese national. Dr Michael also spent a considerable period of time practicing in the UK.
Ludmila Fowler of Vida Interiors is an Interior designer, Ludmila started out in life in Hydro Electric engineering! Ludmila is married to an Englishman, which shows that she has impeccable taste.
The above speakers all talked about way in which to do business with the Russian communities along the Costa del Sol.
Marbella Town Hall shows B2B interest:
A very proactive member of the Marbella Town Hall and Councillor for tourism, Jose Luis Hernandes is very closely involved with foreign business communities head of the tourism dept and reporting directly to the Marbella Mayoress, José Luis gave a speech on various topics, key points of which can be seen below.
Think Tank Meeting:

Important things to remember:
Russian consumers are just like everyone else, they demand quality, service and will refer business to others that has proven themselves.
With the right idea and marketing you can build your business to service multiple communities on the coast.
